Over the past two decades in the software industry, I’ve had the privilege of working closely with real builders—engineers, architects, operators—who’ve shaped the way modern systems run. And it’s clear to me that we’re at the start of another seismic shift. Generative and agentic AI are redefining how data is accessed, processed, and shared, often without a human in the loop.

This new world creates a serious mismatch between how data is actually used and how most enterprises try to govern it. Traditional security tools simply aren’t enough. They can’t see or stop misuse as it happens. And they weren’t designed for the fluid, federated, AI-driven environments we now live in.

That’s where Theom comes in.

Theom is building the first Data Operations Center (DOC)—a control plane that treats data as the new perimeter.
