Capella Space Provides Insights into Ukraine

As the conflict in Ukraine has broken out, new technology has provided the general public with greater access to information than any war previously. Although much of this news is real, fake news is still created and spread due to a multitude of factors, but Capella Space is attempting to curb this thru their near real-time imaging technology that can track small-scale movements on the earth's surface. Large news stations such as CNN and CNBC have started to display Capella’s high-quality imagery to their viewers.

Capella Space uses Synthetic Aperture Radar(SAR) in low earth orbit to provide immediate and reliable imagery. One of the greatest advantages to using SAR over optical satellites is that SAR can penetrate clouds and smoke and work during both the day and night. Although this technology is currently being highlighted for its defense and intelligence application, this technology provides applications to an ample amount of industries including, but not limited to Humanitarian Assistance & Disaster Relief, Finance and Commodities, and Maritime Domain Awareness.
